The Network We (de)Served is a series of mixed media publications that present a distinct set of perspectives on issues ranging from network politics, publishing methods, visualization, mapping and graphing of human and machine topologies, as well as reflections on online sociality.

They take the form of handcrafted HTML webzines that exist online on various self-hosted servers, and offline as their HTML-to-print equivalents. The content of these publications is grouped in the following categories: What is a network; Autonomy and its contingencies; Network(ed) publishing; Mapping networks; Social networks.

The project binds ideas and research developed during the Special Issue Welcome To The Federation, led by Manetta Berends and Roel Roscam Abbing.

It was produced together with Simon Browne, Tancredi Di Giovanni, Paloma García, Rita Graça, Pedro Sá Couto, Biyi Wen and Bohye Woo, with the support of Varia, Centre for Everyday Technology.
